Dr Pablo J Acebal was born in San Juan Puerto Rico on June 21, 1962, first son of Cuban exiled parents. He received his primary education at the Marist Brother's School in Puerto Rico and developed early an interest in the function of the human brain and nervous system.

After high school Dr Acebal attended the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia were he completed his premedical education and did undergraduate Neurology Research at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. 

Dr Acebal then moved to New York where he attended Medical School at The Albert Einstein College of Medicine and received his MD degree in 1988 with Distinction in Research in Neuro Oncology I 

After a year of Surgical Internship at Montefiore Hospital in New York, Dr Acebal returned to Puerto Rico and completed the six year Residency in Neurosurgery at the University of Puerto Rico Medical Center. 

Following the residency Dr Acebal moved to Miami, Florida and completed a post residency fellowship in Spinal Neurosurgery at the University of Miami School of Medicine- Jackson Memorial Hospital. 

Dr Acebal is Board Certified by The American Board of Neurological Surgery since 2000. He lives in Kendall and has been in private practice since 1995. Dr Acebal is one of the five founding members of Consultants in Neurological Surgery, LLP
